Common questions
Can I set up Hospitable before leaving my current property management software?
Yes. You can use Hospitable’s 14-day free trial to explore the platform and start getting things ready before completing your switch. For Airbnb and Vrbo, you can also use certain Hospitable features alongside another property management software through a limited connection, although pricing and availability management require Hospitable to become the active property management software connection.
Will I have to recreate my listings?
No. Hospitable connects to the listings you already have on channels like Airbnb, Vrbo, and Booking.com rather than asking you to publish entirely new ones. The exact connection process depends on the channel.
What happens to my existing reservations?
Current and upcoming reservations from supported channels generally sync into Hospitable when you connect them. Airbnb also imports up to 5,000 past reservations, while Booking.com does not send past reservations through its API. Vrbo reservations transfer after the software switch, although some historical financial information may need to be imported separately.
What about my direct bookings?
Direct bookings don’t transfer automatically from another PMS. If you only have a few upcoming bookings, you can recreate them in Hospitable. For larger volumes, Hospitable Support can help import them from a CSV containing the reservation details.
Do my automated messages transfer automatically?
No. There’s no automatic PMS-to-PMS transfer of your automations, so you’ll need to recreate or copy your existing messages into Hospitable. The recommended approach is to disable automations in your old PMS and enable the new ones in Hospitable once you’re ready.
Will there be any downtime while I switch?
It depends on the booking channel. Vrbo’s official Partner connection supports a software switch designed to hand the account directly from one PMS to another. Airbnb requires you to disconnect your old full-scope PMS before connecting Hospitable, while Booking.com recommends briefly pausing the listing during the connectivity change, which can take up to around 10 minutes.
