What does "merchant of record" actually mean?
We become the seller of record for the transaction. We collect payment from the guest, process it, handle any disputes, and pay you out. You remain responsible for delivering the stay and remitting taxes where required.
Do I need my own Stripe account?
No. With Direct Premium, we handle all payment processing. You just receive payouts.
What happens if a guest files a chargeback?
We handle the entire dispute process and absorb the cost. You don't lose the money.
Is this available everywhere?
Direct Premium is currently available in the US, UK, and Australia.
What's the difference between Direct Basic and Direct Premium?
Direct Basic (1% fee) uses Stripe where you're the merchant. You handle chargebacks, taxes, screening, and damage protection yourself. Direct Premium (7% fee) includes full chargeback protection, guest verification, $5M damage coverage, and tax calculation.
