What do we do with your information?

Use of Google user data

When you connect a Google account to Hospitable (for example, to integrate Google Nest smart devices, or any other Google service we support), we access Google user data solely to provide and improve the user-facing features you have requested.

Specifically, we use Google user data to:

  • Authenticate your Google account and maintain your connection to Hospitable.

  • Read device, structure, and account information necessary to display your connected Google devices inside Hospitable and to operate the features you have enabled (such as smart device management for your short-term rental properties).

  • Send commands to your connected Google devices on your behalf when you, your teammates, or your automated rules trigger an action inside Hospitable.

  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues with your integration when you contact our support team.

We do not use Google user data for any of the following purposes:

  • Serving advertisements of any kind, including targeted, personalized, retargeted, or interest-based advertising.

  • Selling Google user data to third parties, data brokers, or information resellers.

  • Determining credit-worthiness or for any lending purpose.

  • Building, training, or improving generalized or non-personalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Sharing of Google user data

We do not sell, rent, or transfer Google user data to third parties for advertising, marketing, or any purpose unrelated to providing or improving the features you have requested.

We share Google user data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • With you and members of your team. Information from your connected Google account (such as the list and status of your connected smart devices) is made visible to you and to teammates you have authorized within your Hospitable account.

  • With infrastructure and operational subprocessors who act on our behalf. This includes our cloud hosting and database providers, error-monitoring and logging providers, and customer-support tooling. These subprocessors only process Google user data to the extent necessary to deliver the Hospitable service to you, and they are bound by contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations.

  • When required by law. We may disclose Google user data if we are legally compelled to do so, as described in the "Disclosure" section above.

  • In a corporate transaction. If Hospitable is acquired by or merged with another company, Google user data may be transferred to the new owner under the same protections described in this Privacy Policy, as also described in the "Changes to this Privacy Policy" section.

We do not transfer Google user data to third parties for targeted advertising, selling to data brokers, providing to information resellers, determining credit-worthiness, or any lending, advertising, or AI-model-training purpose.

You may revoke Hospitable's access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account permissions page, or by disconnecting the integration from within Hospitable. Upon revocation or disconnection, we will stop accessing new Google user data and will delete or anonymize cached Google user data in line with our retention practices.

Security

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions  and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not  inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or  destroyed.

On hospitable.com and app.hospitable.com

  • _ga and _gat allow Hospitable to obtain information on its users for analysis by Google Analytics. The _ga cookie is persistent for up to 2 years, the _gat cookie is sessional.

  • _smartsession, allows us to store information related to your authentification. Sessional (void on logout).

  • user_r is necessary to automatically log you back in if  you have selected the “Remember me” option upon login. This cookie is  persistent for 1 month.

Age of Consent

By using this site, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your state or province of residence, or that you are the age  of majority in your state or province of residence and you have given  us your consent to allow any of your minor dependents to use this site.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so  please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect  immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material  changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been  updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we  use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.

If our website is acquired or merged with another company, your  information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue  to sell products to you.
