From House Hack to Hosting Leader

In 2021, Niyi Adewole started small—renting out the in-law suite of his first home in Atlanta. When he realized he could generate consistent income from short-term rentals, he took the leap into hosting full properties.

Word spread quickly. The investors he was already working with in real estate began asking if he could manage their rentals too. That was the start of Ekabo Home, a company that today manages 30 units across 18–19 properties, from one-bedroom apartments to luxury mansions up to 10,000 square feet.

“We’ve been in short-term rentals for over four years, and now have a full team—VAs, cleaners, maintenance, and operations. What started as a side hustle turned into a professional property management company,” Niyi explains.

Differentiating in a Competitive Market

Niyi believes success in today’s short-term rental landscape requires intention, design, and unique experiences.

One standout property—City in the Forest—is just three blocks from the Atlanta Beltline and near several upcoming World Cup venues. To make it unforgettable, the Ekabo Home team designed it with:

  • An arcade for in-home entertainment
  • A mini putt course with AstroTurf in the backyard
  • Immersive natural surroundings

“It’s about creating something memorable,” Niyi says. “Guests love the little extras that set us apart.”

Why Hospitable Became Essential

At first, Niyi managed five units on his own. But one missed cleaning for a same-day booking turned into a disaster—and a turning point.

“I needed a way to automatically alert cleaners and give them access to calendars. That’s when I found Hospitable. It changed everything.”

With Hospitable’s automation, Ekabo Home has:

  • Consistent guest communication 24/7
  • Automatic cleaner scheduling and alerts
  • Smart lock integrations for seamless check-ins
  • Centralized calendar syncing across Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, and direct bookings

“Before Hospitable, I was glued to my phone. Now I can sleep easy knowing everything is handled. My business would be much smaller today without it,” Niyi shares.

The Impact of Automation

One of the biggest wins for Ekabo Home has been turning challenges into opportunities for five-star reviews.

“If something goes wrong but you address it quickly—and even go above and beyond—it can turn into a positive experience. Hospitable makes that possible because guests always feel heard,” Niyi explains.

Cleaners also benefit from automation: they receive property-specific notifications, so nothing slips through the cracks. “That was the first and most impactful feature that sold me on Hospitable,” he adds.

A Partner That Listens

Beyond software, Niyi appreciates Hospitable’s transparency and community.

  • Feature requests: “I remember voting for August lock integration. A few months later—it was live. Same with Schlage. Hospitable actually listens.”
  • Town Halls: “Every two weeks, you can hop on with the CEO and team. They’re building this with us.”
  • Shared experience: “Most of the Hospitable team owns short-term rentals. They understand what we need because they live it too.”

Looking Ahead

With 30 units under management and growing, Niyi sees automation and AI as the future.

“Everyone’s talking about AI, but with Hospitable, we can actually see it improving week by week. Pretty soon, we’ll be able to run almost everything automatically and just step in when we want to add a personal touch.”

For Niyi, choosing Hospitable wasn’t just about convenience—it was about building a scalable business.

“When it comes to property management software, Hospitable is top notch. We wouldn’t be where we are today without it.”
