Recently, Airbnb announced that it no longer offers security deposit collection via the Resolution Center. Instead, hosts can only set security deposits through API-connected software. And hey, we are here to help!
Thanks to all of your feedback and swift organization to request the ability to collect security deposits through Hospitable, we were able to make updates and support the collection of security deposits through our system.
Many hosts brought to our attention the importance of this feature and shared their concerns during our regular Townhall meetings. We always value useful feedback from our hosts, so we got down to creating a quick solution to help you collect the security deposit offline – outside of the regular Airbnb booking process.
Now, using your Hospitable account, you can inform your Airbnb guests that a security deposit is required and automate the communication around it as part of the guest’s booking flow.
Unfortunately, you cannot yet process, track or collect security deposits directly through our system. But cheer up! We are already making the first steps towards the extended automation of the security deposit-related features.

In case you want to go above and beyond for your guests (and we know you do!), we have some Pro-Tips for you:
Let your guests know how you collect the security deposit in a New Reservation messaging rule.
Include the link to the payment portal of your choice if you are collecting the deposit through a payment processor (i.e., Stripe, PayPal).
Direct your guests to this article if any questions about Airbnb’s offline-collected fees policy pop up.
As always, we’d love to hear your feedback on our new feature. Drop us a line at [email protected] if you have any specific questions or you need help. You can also check out our Feature Request portal and share or upvote the new features you’d like to see. Happy hosting!
