Meet Camille

Camille Barton is the director of POD Property Management on the Gold Coast, managing short-term rentals from Casuarina to Surfers Paradise. Camille has been a host on the Gold Coast for 10 years now, and she says she's been "loving every minute of it."

Before that, she was in the health and wellness industry. "For me, I needed to move out of that. I wanted to move into something detail-oriented, still providing a strong guest experience. So, I fell into the holiday rental market. When I started, it was a niche market, and it's very competitive now."

Camille says Hospitable has been instrumental in growing her property management business. Watch the video to learn how Hospitable helps Camille overcome challenges property managers face, automating many manual tasks so she can focus on delivering the highest level of service for property owners and guests.

Automating Hosting Routine

Camille points out that Hospitable helped her automate many things that she used to do manually, including guest messaging. "Going back like 4 years ago, I was still writing every single message to my guests, often, until like 11:00 at night. So, it's helped me navigate out of that."

She underlines that using Hospitable PMS helped her overcome the challenges of "being stuck" to doing repetitive tasks like writing guest messages. Automation saved her valuable time so she could focus on building a business, offering an exceptional approach to STR property management.

"I wanted a business that had that point of difference from the start, from when we're presenting a property to having that personal touch. If it's raining, we contact the guests and say, hey guys, don't forget an umbrella. You know, those little points of difference are amazing with Hospitable," Camille reveals.

Camille takes advantage of Hospitable's AI integration, which allows her to create personalized guest messages with little effort and ensure fast and clear communication. She points out that although they still have to write many messages to guests manually, AI features save her a lot of time, allowing her to quickly draft and correct detailed responses.

Camille notes that Hospitable automation is an absolute time saver for her. "It's allowing scale at the moment, which is incredible because every small business wants to scale at a point. And POD is definitely at that point. So with the partnership with Hospitable, it's been great."

Why Hospitable?

Camille likes that the Hospitable system is easy to use. "It didn't take me a long time to train myself and then train my staff, which is a big benefit for me in taking on Hospitable."

She admits that as she was choosing software for POD, she had checked out many big PMS systems. However, she found that many offered unnecessary features for her as a small business owner, so "the onboarding process was going to be very arduous." And when she came across Hospitable, she was impressed with the simple, user-friendly system's interface and fast and responsive customer support.

"The onboarding process was like within a week for me, which was amazing because, in this industry, everything's on the fly. You don't have much time to set aside to take on a new system. So, for me, it was easy. I could just build it into my life, spend a couple of hours on it one day, and rely on their support system, too."

Camille recommends Hospitable to other hosts, especially those just starting their short-term rental journey. "For small operators coming on board with maybe 10 short-term rentals up to 50, it's a great starting point to understand what a property management software system can do for your business."
