Favorite Hospitable feature?
Smart locks integration—Elena thinks Hospitable is "fantastic when managing the lockbox system because it can change your code automatically. Instead of worrying about when your guests check in and check out, the code is autogenerated. A new code will come in for each guest staying at your property, and then the old code is terminated by the end of it."

Meet Elena

Elena got into short-term renting about a year ago. She says she likes hosting because “you’re showing someone a brand new city that they’re not used to, and people are excited about seeing a city like Toronto.”

Elena manages a beautifully renovated luxury loft in the historic Annex neighborhood in Downtown Toronto. She says that one of the great features of their Airbnb is an incredible spiral staircase right in the middle of it. “It’s actually what made me fall in love with this house and probably one of the main reasons why I purchased it,” she explains.

Elena uses Hospitable to automate repetitive hosting tasks and save time because she has a full-time job. Watch the video to learn how Hospitable helps Elena manage her Airbnb property alongside a busy 9-to-5 role and ensure that her guests “feel like they’re heard and seen.”

Benefits of Automation

Elena says that they started using Hospitable because they were having a lot of difficulties setting up their smart lock, and our tool helped her solve this problem so she doesn’t have to worry about changing her door codes.

She likes the Hospitable platform because it allows her to automate the onboarding process for guests from start to finish and provide them with the necessary information at the right time. For example, when guests check in, they get an automated welcome message from Elena with check-in instructions and guidelines for getting to the property. Hospitable also allows her to automate the answering of common questions so her guests get responses right away, which helps maintain a high rating on Airbnb.

Elena also uses Hospitable to communicate with cleaners and assign tasks to them. “The nice thing about it is when our guests check in or out, our cleaners also know about that. It’s all automated. We’re really hands-off, and the cleaners take care of it.”

Take your team management to the next level

Grant necessary access, assign tasks automatically, share a calendar, send reminders, and more.

Elena points out that with Hospitable, she doesn’t have to do as much as she would have to do if she had to manage it all herself.” The most valuable thing ever is time. So, if I can eliminate a portion of my day, why wouldn’t I do that? So why wouldn’t I save my time and use an app tailored towards solving a problem, which saves me time?”

Why Hospitable?

“There’s a huge portion of time you save when everything’s automated,” Elena emphasizes. She thinks that Hospitable has drastically changed how much time they spend managing their short-term rental. “Previously, we probably used about 2 hours of time each week to take care of the short-term rental. Now we’re probably using about 25 minutes a week,” she clarifies.

This aspect is crucial for Elena because Hospitable allows her to combine operating a short-term rental with a full-time job. “If you have a full-time job, tailoring to customer service and hosting Airbnb or a hotel service can be difficult. So it’s nice to have some automation, so your guests can feel like they’re not forgotten.”
